The New Faculty Program is a comprehensive program designed to develop your teaching skills.
New Faculty will be asked to include the following:
- Their teaching philosophy
- Evidence and analysis of their teaching effectiveness
- Evidence of participation in 9 hours of Professional Development opportunities offered through UTS, conferences, or self-directed activities
- Evidence of reflective practice (linking teaching effectiveness to professional development)
University Teaching Services will provide:
- Templates and guidelines for the teaching dossier
- Faculty development sessions in a variety of formats
- Faculty specific sessions on request
- Micro Teach feedback sessions

What will you receive? At the completion of the program, each participant will receive a signed letter of completion from the Director of University Teaching Services and the Vice-Provost (Academic Affairs) to place in their dossier.
Teaching Mentor All participants of the New Faculty Program are asked to provide the name of a Teaching Mentor for the duration of the program.
